Adam A. Acevedo is a native of Ventura County. He grew up and went to school in Santa Paula and now resides in Ventura. He has been with the Hathaway Law Firm for five years.
Adam practices in the areas of litigation, business entities, real estate, agriculture and education law.
Adam received his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Chico. After graduation he worked in the agricultural industry with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and later with Seminis Vegetable Seeds.
Adam received his Master of Business Administration from California Lutheran University and his Juris Doctor from Drake University. During his law school years Adam was a staff member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law.
He also interned with the Iowa Department of Justice, assisting in disciplinary proceedings before the Iowa Board of Medicine. Additionally, he worked at a Des Moines law firm specializing in healthcare law.
While at the Hathaway Law Firm, Adam has handled many of the Firm’s litigation matters at all levels including mediations, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and civil litigation. In addition, he is experienced with unlawful detainer matters. Adam has handled all phases of litigation from the initial client interview to claim resolution. He is adept at devising and coordinating case strategy, drafting and editing pleadings, drafting motions in all matters, conducting written discovery and witness interviews, taking and defending depositions, overseeing document review and preparing witnesses for trial and depositions.
Adam has represented clients in the Superior Courts of Ventura, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo, as well as administrative hearings.
