Robert A. Bartosh is Managing Partner with Hathaway, Perrett, Webster, Powers, Chrisman & Gutierrez. Bob was raised in Ventura County and has been with the firm since 1992.
Bob’s practice is comprised largely of litigation matters related to Business, Business Entities, Real Property and Employment. Bob specializes in representing public sector executives and employees, with particular emphasis on education. Bob has been a member of the California Teachers Association Group Legal Services since 1992, is a member of the National Organization of Education Lawyers, and he serves as Counsel for the Association of California School Administrators.
Bob also serves as the General Counsel to a variety of maritime interests. He owns and operates a full service shipyard, commercial fueling facility and wet fish unloading facility.
Bob has negotiated, prepared and litigated matters relating to maritime and admiralty interests including crew, captain and vessel management contracts; bareboat and crew charter agreements; transportation leases; vessel maintenance repair modification and berthing agreements; ships preferred mortgages; liens for necessaries and state vessel liens; vessel survey; sale and transfer documentation; seafood transportation; processing and sale agreements.
Bob earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University.
Bob received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego. Prior to law school, Bob was the Legislative Analyst and Government Liaison for the City of San Diego.
Bob has appeared before the United States District Courts in the Southern, Central and Northern Districts and he has appeared in the California Superior Courts in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Kern, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, San Joaquin, Riverside, San Bernardino, Sacramento and San Francisco. He has also appeared before the California Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA) arbitration panels, convened by the American Arbitration Association and JAMS, and the Office of Administrative Hearings.
Bob lives in Ventura and has one grown daughter.
