Paul D. Powers is of Counsel with Hathaway, Perrett, Webster, Powers, Chrisman & Gutierrez.  Paul was previously Managing Partner of the Hathaway Law Firm.  His practice has been in the areas of estate planning, long-term family transition planning for business and estate matters, education law and advising and representing manufacturing and sales organizations in business matters.

 

Paul is a graduate of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.  He received his law degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.  After law school, Paul worked for the Ventura County District Attorney’s office.  After several years with the DA, he came to the Hathaway Law Firm.

 

Because one of Paul’s children is disabled, Paul advises families with disabled dependent’s, particularly those with Developmental Disabilities.

 

Paul is a member of the California State Bar Association, the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is also a member of the National Organization of Education Lawyers and a member of the Group Legal Services Program for the California Teachers’ Association.

Paul donates his spare time to the Ventura Police Department.

Paul lives in Ventura with his wife.  He has two grown children.
