John R. Webster is an emeritus attorney with Hathaway, Perrett, Webster, Powers, Chrisman & Gutierrez.   John was born in San Francisco, and raised in Ventura.  He attended Ventura High School.

John practiced in the areas of estate planning, trusts, business entities and organizations, corporations, contracts, real property and landlord/tenant matters.

John graduated from California State University Fresno, where he was a member of the football team.  After graduation John worked for the City of Pomona Parks and Recreation Department.

John earned his law degree from Loyola University law school in Los Angeles.  While in law school he was an Executive Editor of the Law Review and was appointed to the Thomas More Society.

John joined the law firm when it was known as Hathaway, Soares, Claybaugh & Perrett.  He became a partner in 1971.  He has had a long and successful career representing generations of families in Ventura and assisting in the transition of family businesses to the next generation.  John’s personal experience with commercial real estate ownership has allowed him to expertly counsel his clients in tenant/landlord contacts and disputes to resolution.  John maintains an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell.

John lives in Ventura and has two grown daughters.
